Message The shipping took a little bit longer than was expected, but it wasn’t too bad. Inspection right off the truck it looked real clean, but unfortunately I was not able to swap the motor for a month due to school. Upon disassembly to replace the oil pump and 120k maintenance I discovered the truth. All sprockets were rusted beyond being useful, infact it appeared they had been sitting for many years (contrary to what enginesus told me when I called them). They insisted it was probably just a little bit of surface rust, it most definitely was not... the tensioner was rusted in place and was not moveable! Unfortunately in their fine print they pretty much tell you that you are buying the motor just for the good compression and you must swap over all of your accessories... I just was not ready for it to be as extensive as it was! It ended up a week and a half long spring break of nothing but the motor swap (even with a lift!). The two things I didn’t replace were the cam seals and the injectors... both of which were bad. I got it to start with a little help from injector cleaner and a hammer, but I'm leaking a little bit of oil from the bad seals (a project for another day)... I asked them why they had not looked the engine over (Its not like it’s hard to pull a timing cover and look) their response, "it’s not our job, we only are interested in the compression." Sorry for the rant but I was not happy at all with the quality of the engine.
